About Niral Thiruvizha 2026
Niral Thiruvizha 3.0 is a flagship state-level student hackathon conducted under the Naan Mudhalvan initiative of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The program aims to identify innovative student ideas, encourage problem-solving skills, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration to address real-world challenges.
The hackathon provides a platform for students to transform their ideas into practical solutions by working on curated problem statements across various domains such as technology, sustainability, healthcare, smart systems, and social innovation.
Selected teams will receive the opportunity to present their solutions at higher levels, interact with industry experts, and gain recognition for their innovation and technical skills.

Choosing the right problem statement aligned with your domain expertise and preparing a clear, innovative concept significantly improves the chances of selection.
Proposal Submission Procedure
- Visit the official portal: https://naanmudhalvan.tn.gov.in/niralthiruvizha/ and register as a student (Team Leader registration is sufficient).
- Enter College Name, Student Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
- Verify your account using OTP received on both Mobile and Email and create your Team Name.
- Add team members (Maximum 4 members). Note: Interdisciplinary teams have higher selection priority.
- Select Theme and Problem Statement.
- Enter Project Title and upload Concept Document (up to 5000 words).
- Select Faculty Mentor, verify details, and submit the proposal.
Participation Guidelines
- Open to students from Engineering, Arts & Science, and Polytechnic institutions.
- Maximum of 4 members per team.
- Faculty mentor is mandatory for submission.
- Original and innovative concepts are encouraged.
- Interdisciplinary teams are highly recommended.
