CEFIPRA Indo-French Collaborative Research Call 2026
Applications are invited under the Collaborative Scientific Research Programme and the Industry-Academia Research and Development Programme to strengthen scientific, technological and innovation partnerships between India and France.
The Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research, commonly known as IFCPAR/CEFIPRA, supports joint research between Indian and French researchers, academic institutions, R&D organisations and industry partners.
Programmes Open for Proposals
CSRP supports high-quality collaborative projects in advanced areas of basic and applied science involving research teams from India and France.
- Academia-to-academia and research-institution collaboration
- One Principal Collaborator from India
- One Principal Collaborator from France
- Original and scientifically strong joint proposal
- Balanced contributions from both countries
IARDP supports industry-driven collaborative R&D for developing or substantially improving products, processes and technologies with commercial or societal relevance.
- Industry and academic or research participation
- Collaboration involving India and France
- Proof of concept should already be demonstrated
- Expected prototype development up to TRL 4–5
- Maximum project duration of three years
CSRP Eligibility
- A proposal must be jointly submitted by one Principal Collaborator from India and one Principal Collaborator from France.
- Principal and Joint Collaborators must hold permanent positions in recognised universities or R&D institutions in their respective countries.
- Applicants must satisfy the applicable national eligibility conditions relating to grant operation and retirement age.
- An ORCID or ResearcherID is mandatory for proposal submission.
- The proposed work must be original, collaborative and of high scientific quality.
- The contribution, effort and proposed budget should be reasonably balanced between the Indian and French teams.

IARDP Partnership and Eligibility
- A proposal not satisfying the complete 2+2 model may also be considered when it includes an industrial partner from one country and a research-institution partner from the other country.
- Such proposals must clearly justify why the complete 2+2 partnership could not be formed.
- The scope of work, responsibilities and contribution of every participating organisation must be clearly defined.
- Academic Principal and Joint Collaborators must hold permanent scientist or faculty positions in eligible institutions.
- Industry partners may include eligible SMEs, MSMEs and larger industrial organisations.
- The proposal must present an industry-driven innovation and a clear pathway towards product, process or technology commercialisation.

How to Apply?
- Identify the appropriate programme: CSRP or IARDP.
- Finalise the eligible Indian and French collaborating partners.
- Read the complete programme guidelines and eligibility conditions.
- Register the institutions and investigators in the CEFIPRA online submission portal.
- Prepare the common project title, acronym, concept proposal, full proposal, budget and supporting documents.
- Clearly define the responsibilities and contributions of all Indian and French collaborators.
- Upload the required proposal documents through the CEFIPRA Electronic Project Proposal Management System.
- Complete the online submission on or before 31 July 2026.

Build an Indo-French Research Partnership
Eligible Indian and French collaborators should finalise their joint proposal and complete the online application before the deadline.
Submit Before 31 July 2026
